Savita's sayings
While eating fajitas I tore a little piece of my tortilla and ate it, Savita turns to me and says; 'you are kinda like a baby when you tear your tortilla like that.' (Thu was giving Moshe pieces of tortilla)
Savita showing me something she made from her legos. Savita: 'Look I made a sailboat!' Me: 'Great then we can go sailing.' Savita: 'You can't go sailing with a toy sailboat.' Me: 'Why not?' Savita: 'Because it is not real.' Me: 'Can we pretend?' Savita: 'No, it is a toy sailboat and you can not go sailing with it.'

Why? Why? Why?
Savita's favorite word at the moment is WHY? Everything is why? I could hear Savita talking to Thu in the shower this morning and I must have heard at least 5 why's in a row. When you turn it around her standard answer is; 'because I want to'. The more impossible the question the better.
'Papa, what do cows eat?' 'Grass.' 'Why?' 'I guess because they like grass.' 'Why?' 'Uhm, well cows like grass the same way you like french fries.' 'Why?' 'I don't know, why do you like french fries?' 'Because I want to.'
Me trying to turn it around on Savita. 'Why is your name Savita?' Savita shrugging her shoulders: 'because I am that name.'
'Papa, why do mice have to sleep outside?' 'Uhm, because they belong outside and I don't want mice inside the house.' 'Why?' 'Do you want mice to sleep inside the house?' 'No, I have never seen a mouse sleep in a bed before. I don't want mice to sleep in my bed' 'Me neither, I don't want them in my bed.' 'Why?'
'Why does a cow have an utter and not a pee pee?'
In our hotel room in Guam Moshe was trying to get the pen from the desk. Me: 'No, Moshe that's my pen.' Savita: 'That's not YOUR pen, that pen belongs to the hotel!'
And it just goes on and on and on. All day long. Seriously, the girl wakes up talking and doesn't stop until she goes to bed.

Mr. Sensitive
Moshe is so funny, when I raise my voice at him or hit his hand when he's not allowed to touch something, he doesn't even flinch, when I raise my voice at Savita he gets all fuzzy or starts whining. Here Savita was upset about something. Moshe promptly walks over touches her hand, gives her a hug and then a kiss trying to console her. It will be fun to see what these two will come up with when they get a little older, they're two peas in a pod.

Miss Independent
The ride said that children under the age of 4 had to be accompanied by an adult. I asked the operator if Savita could go by herself (not mentioning she's not 3 yet) and the operator said: 'sure.' Miss independent loved it of course, saying how it was really nice of the operator to help her on the horse.
Guam has a trolley system, which we used to get around and Savita wanted to climb in and out by herself of course. Without fail when the drivers would want to help her or pick her up, she'd tell them very resolutely, 'NO.' She even held up 10 or so people trying to get out because she was trying something new, getting down the stairs without holding onto the railing. It was so funny to see, her hands clenched in fists so she wouldn't be tempted to grab the railing. She's going to be a handful for whoever is going to marry her.
